How did you mates go hunting in Norway?
I’ve brought back skulls etc from USA and as above , if they are clean you shouldn’t have a problem.
Congrats on the hunt too. If I ever make it back to the UK those are the two animals I’d try...
My rut so far, a couple of public land animals. Tahr up next, with a week planned in a west coast ballot block.

Thought it was psychosomatic.
Started watching and cool to see the Fiordland scenery. I spent a week alone in Fiordland, could have definitely stayed longer if $250k was up for grabs haha.
I see one guy got pulled out before...
Bloody awesome. Much easier with the rifle!
Couple of years ago I had the same airline drama when air new zealand lost my bow! Got it a week into my trip.
If it was me I'd keep the well set up Ranger. I assume it preforms well and 200,000km isn't that many km if a ute is looked after (which I am sure it is).
I purchased a new Hilux 4 years ago...
I've got one of these and recommend it. Stable, plenty of storage (should fit your rifle too) and made in NZ.

No, but I did buy a second hand one many years ago off trademe and it was red.
I've trying to ignore the fact that I've got an average pack (Macpac torre) to avoid the cost of these light weight packs. But I probably should update my pack (and other big items) to more...
Nice one, its a great spot. I normally head up there for a few spring missions when the wind isn't too bad.
Thanks marquesgriffin, I ended up getting the meat done back in Wellington. All worked out well.
I reckon the Tararuas is hard work, try the Ruahines or Aorangi's.
I got dropped off at Saddle Hill and glassed the tops for a few days then walked down to 575 at the top of the Overlander Stream and then down the valley to the coast and along to the George Sound...
If anyone is serious about elk hunting in the US you should watch this video.

Unfortunately its getting bloody hard to draw good tags if you are...
We will take some hay and grain with us and have a horse each. On the way in the horse will be loaded with gear and we will also walk. Once camp is set up then ride the horse to find the elk. Cost...
Thanks for the info and offer of the rail! I'll let you know.
I've done both. Got a black bear, pronghorn and elk with my bow. But this year I'll be rifle hunting.
I'm renting the horses, and this includes saddles etc, from an place near where I'm...

Yip, agreed.
Anyone heading to USA to hunt this year?
I’ve put in for the wyoming elk (bull and cow) draw for my son and I. Will then look at the deer and pronghorn draw depending on the elk draw results. ...
Thanks for the tips. I will look into any export restrictions.
I have applied for an import permit already, so will see how that goes. I already have one for my rifle and apply for it each...
I'm looking at a CVA ACCURA MR-X or CVA Optima V2. Don't think they are available here.
I've looking at buying it in the US for about $US700 and flying back with it at no cost. 2-3 times more...
Cameron Harrison is $6.75 per kg for plain sausages with the NZDA discount.
