I used to load them at mag length with the short magazine. 2.785 inches or thereabouts I think, shot well. 40.5 grains of 2208 in federal cases, 2620 fps. Same barrel length as you too.

Yep they need a bit of resistance, at most ranges in my experience with the 30 cal AMAX. Shot many goats with them at about 10-20 yards with 308win, quite a few shot through both shoulders needed...

2208 goes really well in the 243. I've been loading the 105 Targex with it, 2910fps average out of a 20 inch barrel does well. Load is getting up there at 39.5 grains.

Yeah looks like the options are pretty broad, think I'll stock with the Aussie stuff, seems to be good stock and priced a bit more reasonably.
