    CZ 527 scope mounting options

    Hey all,

Anyone had any experience mounting a scope on a CZ 527? they seem to be a bit finicky when it comes to options.

I want to put a vortex viper PST 6-24x50 on it but have been reading about it and it seems the bolt has issues clearing the eyepiece with out stupidly high rings which I'm not keen on.

    cheers
    Tom

    Hey man,

I have seen them ground down to fit... seems the only way to get it to fit perfectly I believe...

    CZ 527 Full Stock...

You could just get higher rings and use a decent cheek riser.... or get another rifle...

    CZ Replacement Bolt Handle

Or try them.... but shipping overseas normally ends a conversation..

Bolt mod is not too difficult, unless you're a purist, in which case goodbye cheek weld!

I have three, CZ 527, x2 17 hornets, and a .204, and none required any bolt mod, and have std Cz or Talley rings, Z3 4x12, Z5 3-18x44 power, and 4x12x40 power Nikon monarch, have also had a .223 American,
the CZ bolts have been modified, for at least five years, perhaps longer, so unless its old stock, it wont be a problem, but it keeps coming up on the net.
The Cz rings are a bit high for a 1" 40mm scope, but about right for a 50mm, I like the tally rings more. bit lower, less chunky.
One thing to watch, is the size of the objective bell, on the rear scope, you want slim, Leupold, swarvo etc, not Burris chunky.
I should add, that CZ sells, the modified bolt handle, for older 527 rifles.
    What cal you looking at,

Talk to Macca , I sold him some leupold rings which were perfect height for the same scope and rifle. Probably the cleanest and most elegant you will find for that gun. Give reloaders a call, they quite often carry those in stock. Otherwise tikka ring work great as well. The problem of the talleys is that they tend to crush ( or ovalise) the tube of the scope.

Leupy, CZ, Warne are the ones I've tried.
Wasn't that fussed on the CZ's , Leupys were ok.

Have a Nightforce 3x10x42 on now in 30mm Warnes , original bolt
Stock pack on and it's perfect.

Personally I like the Burris CZ rings. Some scopes have bigger power adjuster rings and eyepeice bells than others so are harder to get clearance for. Leupolds are a nice and skinny scope.

Cheers guys. @southernman I've just bought one in .204 and I've put my Sightron SII 4-16 in the standard rings on it but I want to put a Vortex 6-24 on it. I want to start dialing and in MRAD not MOA so Vortex looks like a good option
@Maca49 what rings are they? sounds like you've got the exact setup I'm looking for.
