    Getting a 4.8mtr boat to Stewart Island...and back..recommendations.

Self and a couple of cobbers have Abrahams block for 10 days in March. Looking for the best/most economical way of getting our 4.8mtr Niad RIB from Bluff to Oban and no, we're not driving it across, we're not that intrepid. Plan is to motor round from Oban to the Golden Bay wharf, load the gear then potter off to the block...at the top of the tide...we know about the mudflats.
Have emailed the ferry service but no reply...anyone done this before, what's the best way of getting it there?
    cheers guys.

We went from Milford Sound to Caswell sound on a 40 foot Cray boat and towed a 5.4 meter fiberglass jet boat all the way.
And surprisingly, that was in quite a big swell.

Done before and used Aurora. Easy and simple.

If you're not pushed for time, you could get it on one of the freight ferry's - can get the number of a few from a friend who's there if needed.

These guys will take it. You'll have to work in with their schedule. Cheers
