    What a magical place.

After a quick catch up with @Pengy and @veitnamcam yesterday, the talk of hunting got me all keen so I decided to go out for a quick overnighter.
Early on in the trip (about half an hour after I left the wagon) I dropped my new rifle/scope on the rocks which didn't exactly instill me with confidence about its accuracy. I saw 5 deer this morning but no shots were fired as I had this in the back of my mind and nothing I saw was in urgent need of a bullet. The most striking thing about the trip was the scenery. We truly are bless to live in such a magical place. I will let the pictures do the talking from here.

My tent can be seen past the big tarn in the center of the photo just to the right of the pinnacle.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing, and right-doing, there is a field. I will meet you there.

No. I have only just got home.
I am about to start some more load development now that I have some AR2206h (thanks @Pengy) so will hopefully get to shoot it over the weekend. I am going into work this afternoon so those projectiles may be here too

Wasn't keen on leaving one running around wounded if things weren't right. 223 doesn't allow much room for error at the best of times.

Lucky sod. Great shots. Not helping my own case of itchy feet at the moment!

Great photos Shearer, we are very lucky to have access to these areas with little or no people about and the ability to hunt year round.

Those photos just make me want to climb mountains, the call is strong to head out and get down south to explore stunning places like these.

    Thanks for posting

Very cool country all right. The scenery alone is worth the effort, and a deer would be icing on the cake!

Yes, I really must do that at some point. And on my own schedule this time so not forced to just drive past the turn-off again..

Away up to T. lodge at Mt Cook in a couple weeks for a nice relax, planning to give the legs a good test while I’m there.
