    I'm using 46.5g 2206h which pushes 150g SST at 2751fps in a 16inch bushpig

I use 2208 in my 24 inch 308 and 16 inch 30-30. I used to use 2206 (not 2206h) in my 223 but never tried it in the 30-30, now I just use 2208 in all three.

Pongo, that's a very hot load. Your rifle and barrel but please be careful.

No signs of any pressure at all. Kills well, sacked a good sized sambar few nights ago. Very capable little round

Have you thought of using lighter Barnes projectiles? I am driving a 130 TTSX at 3000 ft/s out of a 17 1/5 inch barrel. Using 2206H. Have have devastating results from 50m to 200m on Reds, fallow and the odd goat.

Yeah have contemplated it but they are a hell of a price! if you run the numbers thru a ballistic calculator the 150gr (even a 2700fps) has loads of oomph out to about 400 odd meters. The drop isn't that much more either... 400m is a long way for a bush rifle... ;-)
