260: powder type vs pill weight

Hey guys I remember seeing somewhere a while ago that pills under 130gr in the 260 better suit ADI 2208 vs ADI 2209 where as 130gr+ prefers the opposite. I want to try a couple of different loads in my 20" mod 7 and have both types of powders so just wondering if people run 129/140gr SSTs with much luck in the equivalent rifle. Have some 120gr Pro hunters which I will also play with but have an idea of what to work towards thanks to other info I have found in this forum. Cheers John

I run 120 Amax with 2208 trundling along at 2990 fps (chronographed)
With AR2209 140 Amax (now ELDM ) for a bit slower. Working backwards with verified bullet drops on strelok I get MV of 2550

@johnd you want 40x140gr ELDMs I have laying around? In all fairness I am probably going to run interlocks over SSTs as an all rounder. Everything I hear about them is good

Anyone documented results with RL16 in .260 yet? Its burn rate is half way between 2208 and 2209 and gets good velocities in the creedmoor

I tried it in my .260 but it wasn't as accurate as Hodgdon Superproformance it's also a lot bulkier so they end up being compressed loads.
Hodgdon Superproformance had a very low SD OF 3 so I'll stick with that I also load it in 3 other .260 and it just works

Did a test with the 120gr sierra pro hunters today. Did not chrony the loads just did a quick 2shot per powder weight group test as I did not realise how quickly the barrels heated up unlike other rifles I have owned. Went up in 0.5gr incriments from 44-46.5gr of 2209. Only 46.5gr would be MOA with 46 close so have loaded up 4 more of each weight and will look at them closer with a 5 minute break between each shot to check at cold bore levels. Yet to check the SSTs but will do that next time and hopefully have some interlocks by then. Not super stoked but am sure with a few more loads run through I will find a sweet spot.
