6.5 prc reloading advice wanted please

Absolute newly to reloading rifle only ever have done shotgun for trap shooting last century.
Have purchased 100 new norma brass and have 200 rounds of nosler 140 ballistic tip which I purchased for the good price and cases for reloading.
Ideally something in the 2950 to 3050 fps range.
    I have 140 vld projectiles,140 eldm and 140 eldm.
If possible 1 powder type and 1 primer type would be best.
Really just want to develop 1 load which shoots the best and stick to it.
Will need a chronic I suppose ,any recommendations under $500
    Many thanks

    Pretty good start there bro,
147 eldms are the go with the crazy high bc
2217 or 2225 will get you those speeds if your barrel is long enough

I mucked around with a few different powders in my 6.5 PRC but eventually just stuck with AR2217, I get good velocity, great groups and relatively speaking the price and availability of it is better than Alliant or VV etc.

I predominantly use CCI large rifle primers but did run some Fiochi primers for comparison recently and honestly there was no real difference, maybe 5 fps average if that.

Superformance is good for the 6.5 PRC. Try and return that Norma brass and buy Lapua, the Norma is very consistent and will last a long time but, it's very soft and will flow into the ejector at lower than max pressures.

    Thanks very much.
Won't be able to return the norma brass unfortunately.
Barrel is standard tikks which I believe is 24 inch

Using Superperformance in am getting 2963fps with 143gr Eldx.

2217 was a little bit slower

Rifle is a factory Tikka T3

2217 for me, 22 inch barrel 2900 + fps with 140s below book max. Very accurate and seems nice and temp stable.

Shoots great for me with 140 and 147 eldm's as well as with the berger 140 vld hunting.

Just using cci large rifle primers.

I've settled on 147eldm. 56 grns superformance, fed 210m primer will get you around those speeds.dont be obsessed with cracking the 3000 fps just get an accurate load the eldm is a broootal killer out past 200.

    Thanks again
It's pretty much a case of trying to make the most of the calibre or just shooting the 6.5 creedmoor

Realistic in pressure velocities for the creed with 140s from hunting length barrels are like mid 2700's easy to eclipse that with the prc without pushing hard at all.

2900+ fps with a 140 gr class 6.5 bullet is a pretty capable combo from both terminal and external ballistics standpoints

I note that some of the comments suggest large rifle primers ,do I not need magnum primers?

Either large or magnum will work, I found about 0.5 grains difference in charge weight between the two.
