Thread: Just the tip......7 rem mag A-Tip load development

Fitted a new scope to the Bergara this week Athlon Midas BTR Gen 2 4.5-27×50 so took it to the range today to sight in.
I used some old 150gn hand loads to get it on paper (shots 1, 2, and 3) then shot one of my A-tip hand loads to check P.O.I made a quick adjustment then shot a 3 round group to check zero.
The first 2 shots were right on top of each other, so i gave the barrel 10 minutes to cool down as it had fired 6 rounds in quick succession, then shot the 3rd which also landed right on the money
Yes it's only one 3 shot group but still very happy with that. I don't need to burn through components to know that this rifle is a shooter.
Group measured .2375" for anyone curious.








I do still intend to do another charge ladder when my next batch of A-Tips arrive to see if i can get my E.S even tighter, for now I have enough loaded for impromptu hunting but that's about it.
