Bit like the 375 H+H. yup there are other calibres close to it that do just as well or better (a little). The 375 ruger is a classic example-straight walled shorter case with exazercly the same performance but time is on the hollands side.
Heaps around, factory ammo and rifles everywhere and it still does the job and is trusted. Same for the 7mm remmy and the 300wm. they just work and it will take yonks to knock them off their perch
The ammo is a big thing-try forgetting your hand loaded .28 Nosler laser beams at home and then wanting to buy some at the local hunting store. I know the small mobs probably wont have a massive selection but at least a packet to get you out of trouble.
