    That's the western kaimanawas, not eastern.
    I wouldn't travel too far looking for deer, cullers are working the other side of the Waipakihi valley so best to concentrate on bush-stalking the closer country.
    Search "urchin" and "umukarikari" on the forum and you will get some good info (I did this a couple of days ago).
