    Oamaru Private Block - 14th - 16th Sept

    Hi Guys

Heading for this block with a mate from the forum and really excited and looking forward to it.

Just thought of asking others who have been here on tips and tricks. Don't need spot info but things like:

Watch out for this and that and any other things that you might have seen and experienced.

I have read a thread on this block in here but it was a trip report so looking for additional advice from the experienced ones...

    Cheers

Hi, can't comment on how September is in there but have always done well in there from late October on. September can be hard if the weather is rough anywhere, good luck.

There is a small foot bridge heading toward east creek hut. There is a large open area there, keeps your eyes open good place to spy a sika. Also down the steep hill not far from the Mohaka flat area there check it out as well.

Still a bit early for spring growth, but plenty of options so take your pick.
