Congrats very nice head
Well done,nice big stag.
good potential there tahr.. ;)
Mopheadrob and I faced some very difficult blustery NW conditions over Sat and Sunday on MT Oxford faces Doc. Stags roaring well but no constant wind direction. On Sunday we dropped down to a creek where three stags were exchanging roars but a puff of wind upstream betrayed us. It then changed to SW so as a last try we dropped packs and headed uphill to a bit of tussock roaring with the horn. Next thing it's pouring down and we were soaked, but we thought we heard a couple of grunts on a very steep scrub face. After a few more roars from us, a roar from the stag and we saw him appear on the tussock through the rain with two hinds head back roaring angrily. 308 metres in the neck with the 270 rolled himAttachment 220207
Got up on the main ridge this morning and gave a bit of a moan and this guy fired up instantly. Gave a couple more as I started heading around to him to which he was replying consistantly and more aggressively so I sat down and he walked right into me. 110g Barnes sorted him out

hm, wack an stack for the roar hunter ey ?
Not the biggest head, but the best hunt of my time in the game. Old boy was holding a group of hinds and I had to go ultra stealth to get in and get him from 10 metres. Looked over a lot of bush deer before taking this old boy. Skinny as, in poor condition already.

Im puzzled about the antler tips.....most are still blunt, havent been polished up and sharpened...any idea why this is,or are they just lazy stags in his area???
