Cordite....the amount of shots she will get fired over and around her in a year are less than my older dogs wouldve got in a day shooting wallabies . the duck shooting we do will stuff both our hearing WELL before the few centrefires will... I use supersonics to shoot my deer/pigs for the much better terminal preformance BUT will slip in a subby if finishing animal off....its just easy to do and much nicer on ears all around.

My Dog is not that keen on the bang so when he sees the rifle come up or I get down prone he ducks in just behind me. Suppressed 243 & 358.
After the shot he's keen to get down range and find the animal for me.

Ed to add, Shotgun is a different story, does not worry him at all as he is so keen to get to the bird he has scented.
I try not to shot directly over him but most shots are up into the air. Followed by the number of shots fired is very low. (I don't do a lot of game bird shooting)

Yeah not ya typical indicating dog. This was her first deer she found. So early days. She did a good job on this one. Her range is good. She doesn't look back much like an eye/heading dog, instead she swivels those pointy ears backwards and listens to what I'm up to. Will be going with a heading dog next time as the first 6 month with this one was a real fight. A bit much wolf still in her.

Yeah unfortunately I had just bought that scope for another rifle. It was too hard to get another purchase past the financial controller. The Ballistic Turret is awesome for changing between supers and the subs. I'd love an aimpoint or another swaro with a more suited magnification.

My old boy was 12 in May used a suppressed 308 270wsm 44 magnum I tried to work out how many goats I have shot with the dog over the years must be over 2500 now his hearing pretty good for a dog with so many shots fired over him and near him
