Managed to find Rogee on YouTube, if you were like me struggling to work out who this chap was he runs by the handle Rogee Productions.

Just watched his latest Tahr hunting trip in a familiar valley. To be honest I thought it was a great vid, well put together and a nice flavour of heritage. If the gut shot on the nanny is what people are up and arms about, then it surprises me. I call Pinocchio if you have never done that before, if not…. The old saying,,,you haven’t shot many if that hasn’t happened before.

    Go hard Rogee!

I think alot of people see footage like this and go out and buy a setup from the shop ready to dial with ammo and go out and do terrible things to deer at range
But this 100% isn't rogee he's well expirienced and we'll practiced and does a pretty good job most of the time, no ones perfect
I'm learning the ins and outs of long range shooting and put 100s of rounds down range and shoot weekly at animals and targets, I think as long as people practice and don't overextend there abilitys on animals this style of hunting is fine and is alright to put up on youtube

I too just watched the Thar trip to see what it’s all about.
In terms of content, what you like and don’t like. The previous posts here reinforce my view. It’s subjective.

What I really disliked however was the advertising, every 3 min and fu*king Fresh Choice adds, or some other shit.
I didn’t finish it because I got sick of the interruptions. Not sure if it’s YouTube and the fact I won’t pay for the premium version?
Or he’s making a cut on the adds. Haven’t noticed it with other hunting video I watch. Won’t be watching any more.

I didnt read everthing cause it seemed messy but ill.say ive watched a lot of his stuff and found nothing wrong with it , no it doesnt always go exactly to plan but fuck thats hunting. Ive seen plenty of people fuck it up at 40 yards. Myself included. Dude gets out there and does it puts in the yards and chooses to shoot long range. Puts in the recovery time. As for the counting down thing its fairly simple , they both shoot one animal at the same time to maximise the kill opportunity. Didnt really seem wanky to me or stupid. And yes he is ex military. But really its pretty easy to go to another channel if its that upsetting.

Rees comment lacks some context that no-one will really understand unless if you were a part of it or get a good explanation on the situation from someone who was. Grooming is a term used on the BOB page in their rules. It refers to individuals chatting or making conversation with other hunters with the intent of getting access to their hunting areas of private access etc.

Plenty of us have had hunts that haven’t gone well or shots on animals we’ve been less impressed about however it’s when hunting videos are posted online that show animals being wounded that I don’t appreciate.

Does footage of an animal that’s been poorly shot need to be posted or can that be left out of the final footage? Did that young bull need to be shot?

I would agree that the whole video gives an honest account of his trip however videos on YouTube are accessible by everyone, both hunters and non hunters alike.

As a hunter I don’t appreciate seeing footage of a wounded animal… I wonder how a non hunter views that same footage!

Rogee is also representing a number of companies for which he’s sponsored by so his content needs to reflect a positive image, he’s also a hunter making videos which also represents hunters, his content helps set a bench mark of what is and what isn’t acceptable just like all other hunting videos out on the net.

On a side note, I sometimes wonder if there’s too much pressure on YouTubers to produce content so they push boundaries or take the shot all for the sake of the video.

its the same thing as duck shooting videos
mate THREW out my decoys onto the water as thats the slow mo the videos all seem to shot..also the 5 guns all 5 shot semis and 4 birds come in and its mayhem gangbanging to drop them all,now Im not saying that wrong, its heck of a lot of fun but if your the one paying for the ammunition on a tight budget, yeah nah not so much... MOST fellas who have been around the pond a time or two will OFTEN drop two birds with two barrels, the classic "left n right double" is still an achievement...Im as guilty of loosing off lots of rounds if using a semi as next fella...actually fired all 5 the other day for 2 mallards and a pukeko..the mallards were both 1 shot kills the pukekos I was targeting so just stayed on it till it dropped.
but if all youve ever watched, seen shows lots n lots of shots per bird being expended,it sort of becomes normallised.... as has been said above it reflects on us all..its "seen" as how we behave .
