    .243 projectile options

About to help with some .243 loads and it appears theirs plenty of projectiles to choose from

    100gn partitions (probably to expensive)

90gn ballistic tips (fraction cheaper than the partition)

    90gn speer hotcors

    95gn SST

    100gn Interlock

    Speer 85gn btsp

    90gn eldx

Primary use is fallow and goats 100-300 yards with the possibility of the odd red deer sub 200 yards . Itd be my guess that the above are all capable for his intended uses bassed on my use in other calibres .

Is anybody liking anything out of that list more than others .

Its a model 7 I think its around 20" long

    Many thanks

well if you went with partitions and interlocts...same load, should be same POI you could use partitions for your big deer and the cheaper interlocts for lighter stuff..... the 80-87grn hornadies had a large fan base back in the day...the animals arent any harder to kill now.
look at what you CAN get that will work with powder you CAN get nd go from there.

If been using the speer hot cores. They shoot well in my howa and have worked well on a couple reds so far. Pretty good price too.

100 grain Hornady, either BTSP or Flat base.
I've shot hundreds (at least a couple of hundred) of deer with them. They just work.
At the moment I'm using 87 grain Hornady for smaller stuff, Sika, Fallow meat animals etc if I'm shooting. If someone else is on the gun I feed it 85 grain Interbonds. They both shoot near enough to the same spot out to about 250.

I’m sorry I don’t have any experience with the 90g BT

Past few years I've shot literally hundreds of fallow with 85gr TSX and 95gr SST 0-300yds and they have performed very well

Can’t go wrong with the 100gr Hornady. One load to kill anything at any reasonable distance. That’s what Dave McClunie used to kill all his Wapiti and many bull Tahr with.
