    She's old mate... she top ejects (they changed it on the modern ones to miss the scope) but you won't be disappointed in the open sights - amazing how accurate you can be once you learn to trust them.

    Definitely go for a proper re-blue rather than a coating!

    Depending on when your 30-30 was made there can be some problems with doing a blue job. Some of them have a different metal in the reciever and end up a purple type colour.

    Keep to the 150gn. U won't need 180gns. Nice low recoil too. Nice rifle to introduce newbies to.
