    Akkar and Dickinson semi shotties

There are stories on the net about Akkar and Dickinson shotguns being near identical and made in the same factories. Can anyone shed light on this? I've got a cheap akkar semi shottie I use for farm pest control, and wondering if a Dickinson folding stock would fit. It would make storage easier in transport.

just be careful about the OAL. still needs to be 762mm when folded. Not sure if being unable to fire when folded would help

That actually complicates things, as Dickinson is not on that list. Google gives the address for Dickinson shotguns in California. They are obviously made in Turkey, but it is hard to find out who makes them.

My Akkar semi is amazingly reliable for a lowest value range shotgun. Bever had a FTF or FTE. The only potential issue is the trigger is light enough for accidental bumpfiring if you're not holding it tight. Originally I got a 28" altay, but found the barrel too long for night shoots out of the ute. Replaced it with an 18" mariner version which is much better for my use. Would be nice to switch the stock over if possible, I also prefer pistol grip stocks after owning a saiga 12 clone for a while pre-buyback so just wondering if the folding pistol grip Dickinson stocks would fit the akkar. If not I might end up selling the two akkars and replacing with something better, but in rough farm useage a cheap and reliable inertia semi that you don't care if it gets bumped or scratched makes a lot of sense.

The Huglu's (weird name) seem to have a good rep.

A friend has one, a hulgu sxs presentation grade, beautiful gun immaculately finished it points like a dream. Interchangeable chokes but only one trigger and it doesnt have hammers.
Not a truck gun by any stretch but it's his only field gun now.

Ben, according to the Gun City website they have a Dickinson folding stock in their Napier store. Give them a call and ask if you can bring your gun in to see if it will fit. They will likely try to fit it for you to see as it takes bugger all time if they have the right tools.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Dickinson shotguns are manufactured by Akus (number 10 on Sasquatch's list). Just google "who manufactures Dickinson shotguns".

I am really keen on the Akkar Marine, it has interchangeable chokes (I think is only supplied with cylinder choke tube). Only problem for me as a left hander is the crossbolt safety.
Churchill shotguns sold by H&F are made by Akkar too.

Thanks for that. I did try google for manufacturer but I couldn't find the answer. My Akkar mariner came with 5 chokes, not one. I like it for what I use it for, but would prefer a pistol grip version.

Cheers mate, I'll give them a ring before I'm next in Napier.
