Hints of more shit to come as well, defining the length of a barrel.... And how can something welded to the barrel not be considered as part of the over all length?
How short are the para SKSs? they might not be long enough with the pinned on foresight

Yes apparently a folding/collapsing stock MSSA is concealable now...

And that they won't give you a letter stating that you don't need a permit to bring in barrels.

Sounds very officious in tone most of it... No need to guess which part of the world that came from.

"Measuring length of MSSA Firearms classification approval" is written very poorly for a classification document, the first two words are even repeated! and the case size changes mid paragraph. Wonder how many people proof read it??

It's slightly worrying that they have determined a definition for how they will measure barrel length but not explained why and when they will measure it... the only reference to length is over all length, not barrel length. Makes it feel like there is more limitations coming.

I wounder if they have had any thought on PCP pistols when they wrote it, they have made it pretty clear here that absolutely anything under 762mm is a pistol. The Bullpulp Marauder must be getting pretty short

That's what I was thinking, this change appears to loosen up the restrictions for PCP's rather than tightening them. Wonder if there are more law changes coming to that area soon.

Well if some people (not necessarily you, I hasten to add) had been paying attention to what's been happening in New Zealand over the past few years in terms of firearm legislation instead of berating those who attempted to warn people about what was coming, we might have been in a better position now.
