Once upon a time in a land not too far away from here.....people shot stags with a .30 calibre rifle and were using 200-220grn projectiles......both the .303 british and early .30-06 loadings were big fat heavy round nose jobbies ...NOTHING has changed about the stags....with all the tech you cart around hills today,if you twiddle n fiddle after ranging...how much of a rainbow trajectory is a bit of a moot point......
Bugger,
I was going to recommend the .30-40 Krag, aka the .30 Army, but you beat me.
Regards Grandpamac.
