They do a Z3 4x12x50 with a balistic turret about $1600 . and a z5 3.5x18x44 for about $2000. this is NZ pricing.None in stock but next shipment about 2 weeks away. Does he get to shoot much in Aus?
Balistic reticles work just fine out to 450ishyds and can be faster than dialing, yes you have to think a little and that may be a problem for him if he spends to much time in Aus.You can write the values on the inside of a flipup cover. Forget the "must be numbers ending in 2 zeros.Deer dont stand at 100yd intervals, just work out what the values are on the power setting you want ,its pretty simple.

Actually if you want to see a z3 4-12x50 with TDS set up as above theres one at home.

The Burris XTB-Sako dovetail mounts look as if they still need tapping.

and so does the Roedale rail, which also seems to be held together by screws and friction.

You'd think someone would make a rail that fits on by lock screw the same as a sako or leupold base. Or the base could be shaped like a picatinny rail on top instead of having a hole to twist and fit the ring into. Perhaps you could tap and screw (or weld) a piece of picatinny rail onto an optilock base ? Could be hard to get it straight. Cost would have to be no object

Oh, I have a custom rail screwed to my action now, it seems a bit more solid.

The Roedale rail works fine though.

Gimp, does that Roedale rail bear down onto the lower flats like the optilock (A below) or onto the very top of the receiver like a conventional ringmount (C) ?

Burris make a base designed for this scope and this rifle - "M77 Laserscope mount" serial code 410992. Get your nearest dealer to contact Beretta and you'll have it in your hands in a couple of days.

    There's a T3 one too

    Tim
