Custom Rifles what do you think?

Recently sold my Sako Finnlite 243 which I now regret.
Will replace it soon and I was very happy with it for a bush hunting rifle.
Are any of you using a locally custom made rifle for bush hunting and if so which maker
and how do they perform? The weight fell and performance of the Sako was pretty good
but Ive seen comments that for the out lay a custom rifle may be better?

Just for bush hunting I think you would be hard pushed to beat a Sako, a custom weapon is a special piece of equipment alright but what will it do bush hunting that a factory rifle wont?
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Use my custom built by Dean Maisey for everything only
Thing I would suggest is something on a short action and shorter
Barrel if you do a lot if bush hunting, as mines a long action
And 24 inch tube magnum cal though.

Just spent a week in fiordland with the Forbes and it really is a very well balanced easy to carry rifle, fully barrel bedded so doesn't get junk stuck between stock and barrel.

I think from a functionality perspective and value for money it is better than a sako in every aspect.

People don't really know about them yet as they are new so won't have the resale/reputation of a sako

Yeah mmmm nah its still a remington really just had alot of work done to it

I thijk really bush shooting requires a fast handling and well balanced gun, just depends on your price range and personal likes and dislikes. A trued action or a gain twist hand lapped match barrel aint gona kill a deer any more deader either

+1. That's as custom as I'd recommend. Or buy back that Sako.

I finally got the Demo Forbes

    Very nice rifle

Not as light as I thought it would be, lighter than a Kimber Montana, but not the Ascent.

It would certainly make a great all round hunting rifle.
