In a way nothing wrong with all calibers mention above.
My concern is just the efficiency of them.
    A 270 130 gr goes around 3050 fps .
When you can push a 308 130 gr barnes with similar BC at around the same speed in a shorter barrel and short action why stick with those big boomers?

Same thing with a 25-06 Vs a 6.5( be it creedmoor, 260 or 47) .you can push a 120 gr at similar speeds.

The 280 and 30-06 ( and the improved versions) are another class of their own.that is another story.

    My 2 cents.

    Deer Rifle 270 or 25-06

270 has been my choice for 3yrs now . I rate it . Can shoot Up to 300 mts with no hold over . Nice Clean kills so far . The 270 seems to get bad press , I've yet to find a weakness at the ranges I shoot , I should add that you really need a suppresser as the recoils not excessive but it's sharp .
The bad press can work in your favour , second hand guns go for a song , and quite often with all the bolt on bits . The $500 you save put towards better glass which at the end of the day makes better logic

I have both, a 25-06 sako finnlight and a 270 win in remington mountain rifle,
running 110gr accubonds in the .25 cal and 140 gr in the .270.
Field difference, both are very capable, out further than most can reliable shoot, under field conditions.
The 25-06 really needs a longer barrel 22" mininum, 24" is better. to burn all the powder, something to concider if you might chop, shorten barrel.
The .270 might be a better choice, if you do a lot of thar, or are planning on hunting for waps, in fiordland
All thought I have shot dozens more deer with the .270, I like the 25-06 better, and it really seams to get, lots of dead right there kills.
The 110 accubond is a great bullet, along with the 120gr fusion factory load. for the 2506.
No wrong choice, both are great choices, firing a seansiable weight bullet (100-150g) for NZ sized game. with moderate recoil, and plenty of choices for rifles and ammo.

Not flavour of the month and takes a bit of a ribbing but ,in the end, the old 270 shoots pretty staight, hits pretty hard and you can buy ammo everywhere.

Yeah. Lets bring this into the now. 260 vs 6.5 Creedmore.
The 270 is so yesterday as a hunting cartridge and doesn't have any of the great features of these two.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

    Either....take your pick
270 if there is a possibility of going after bigger, tougher game....25-06 if emphasis would be on deer...then going smaller...like goats and varmints...my .02cents
