@DPT I perfectly understand you want to protect your business. I actually own few silencers from you and they are good.
Unfortunately the government made it in such a way that everything which goes thorugh them will be an activating event and people are just holding back.
My feedback and the above quote (from another forum member) is what we got from the registry supervisor(myself) and from the import permit issuer ( the other forum member).
Is just the way it is for the next few months until election day and another few months after that - hopefully!

I in no way want to protect the business by reporting incorrect information. I have been in direct dialogue with one of the firearms authority senior advisers in regards to the conflicting information, especially the term used “arms item”. He has been very clear in that fact that the sale and supply of major firearm parts will prompt an activating event. Non major parts will not.

Just be aware guys, dancing around not trying to trigger a requirement to register all your guns etc by not buying something retail is not helping our local retailers and manufacturers.
That money not being spent has trickle down effects.

And the powers that be couldn't be happier with that outcome. No more dealers.. no more guns..

Don't worry mate most will still buy stuff.
I intend to get a suppressor off you.
It is just I am a tight arse and will use what ammo I have got and only sight in again after I have got suppressor fitted.
I hate the idea of constantly checking, just sight it in and just shoot it.
Bore sight tells your if you need to do it if you drop it or knock it.

This is a good point. I am good friends with my excellent local Gunshop Owner and its been painful to tell him that I won't be buying/trading any Rifles or Rifle parts with him for the forseeable future...

    Imagine how he feels?

This may have already been covered, but I'm looking at purchasing a suppressor for a rifle/calibre I have registered - no problem. My friend is also looking to buy a ss baffle for his suppressor in 308. To save the admin, I proposed that I purchase his baffle with my suppressor (6.5) and just put both on the mail order form. However, as I do not have anything registered in 308, will that be an issue come mail order form etc? Both parties have all firearms registered. Many thanks

I wouldn't think so, I had a 7mm suppressor on my 6.5. just the size I had from a previous rifle. If I was buying a suppressor now, I'd buy it in 30 cal so that it can be used on other guns in the future (30 cal seems to be the biggest I'd ever go I think). And you'll save on shipping!

Alternatively get your mate to fill out the form and sort his own stuff, no chance of a headache then.

Don't see why it should be a problem. I don't own a 30.06 yet I can go buy ammo for one.

That is true, I am overthinking things. Outside of license-related activation, it is just ammo and "any firearm (including a prohibited firearm), prohibited magazine, major firearm part, restricted weapon, or pistol carbine conversion kit"
