    headspace on 308win new barrel

Hey guys, need some advice on doing this little project.
Cracked the factory barrel of the Rem 700 308 Tactical off and replaced it with a Kreiger that was previously fitted to a Rem700.
Trying my luck with the headspace gauges.
Real good fun, Go gauge went fine, and NoGo locked up. Yes, yes, I'm in luck !!
But when I torqued it down.
Go Gauge can't go anymore, headspace too tight? but tried some factory loaded rounds goes in and locks fine.
Shall I try some of my resiezed brass from my redding die and see if it chambers fine?

Where do I go from here, any experts to give me some directions?

    Cheers.

Hy Lee, Im in Paraparaumu. Pm me if you like, I can help you.
Its a fairly easy fix. If you've got the reamer bring it along, otherwise bring just your gauges(I've got everything though).

    Cheers.

I would've thought less headspace wouldn't be an issue?
I do realise that some factory ammo may not fit properly though.

Sorry. I did'nt read the full post. If the bolt will close on factory ammo your actually lucky and would be able to shoot it that way - please just always keep an eye on the cases looking for preasure signs.

If you only reload it should not be a problem as you can adjust your diameters to suit the chamber, or we can just push the shoulder a little forward to ensure that the rifle is within specs and youll be above board.

Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate your information. I have found that my Redding fl bushing die sized brass won't chamber and my RCBS FL Die resized brass will chamber but still a bit tight. It might be to do with the shoulder resizing.
    i'll keep trying and see.
