Ive got a older vx6 with a few black specs in it, not worth waiting 3-4 months for unfortunately
small claims court any good
I’ve had absolutely fantastic dealings with Leupold products over 45+ yrs until last few years where now the scopes/product doesn’t go back to the US but Australia shit heads who shouldn’t be allowed to touch them !
Over all those years I as others here bought broken or worn out Leupold scopes, sent them to the US myself & most either came back as new or actually a new scope & no cost, it was incredible !
In last few years took one into dealer to sent as new rules can’t send & US can’t send back.
Well the “Repairer” had slipped & scratched the scope inter tube & marred up the lock collar on the front lense, this now also cost me money for repair & shipping both ways, terrible !
But this is not US Leupold fault it is the stinking pricks who are handling them now days
Actually who is any good nowadays, same shit show with Leica at the moment, crappy staff & support net work all over !

I had a great experience with burris. older style xtr was replaced with a newer model, and as it was going from 30mm to 34mm tube they even supplied complementary rings
Friend of mine contacted NIOA NZ to ask a few questions, got a reply from a completely clueless person.
Sent the same questions to NIOA Australia and was able to get the answers he needed.
Hopefully it's just growing pains for NIOA NZ, of they control give shit service they'll find people don't want to buy the products they sell/distribute.
I recently received an older scope back from Leupold Australia. I had asked for them to replace the rear lens which was scratched, give it a full clean and check and set the parallex to 60 yards.
They charged me $120 bucks but there was zero paperwork to say what was done. Scope looks exactly the same including the scatched lens which apparently they no longer have parts for.
Pretty poor service compared to the past. I wont be buying any more new Leupolds based on this experience.
Leupold is my top preference for almost every rifle, and so far, no repairs needed (fingers crossed). But if issues keep cropping up, bad service would make switching brands likely—especially for a VX5 or VX6 investment.
Investing in a lower cost, good brand like Vixen means I can simply replace it without much pain.
Leupold optics and service will improve post the executive order requiring USA manufacturing to be made in USA.
