They have also released a similar scope but ffp and 34 mm tube, so a bit more heavy than the 30mm.
That looks wicked. Would love to get my hands on one

Ooo I like the sound of that. It's what NF needs to release..

I also looked at the 2,5-10 NF but sika and chammy are pretty small animals, I like the extra zoom.

Nightforce won't release an optic until it is totally sure it will perform and Stand up to its highest standards hence people still want to buy scopes from the nxs line of optics that must be nearly a 15 yr old line.
I can't really think of any other scope manufacture that can say that except probably s&b with their pm11

It is farcical trying to compare Mach scopes to NF. You just can’t turn shit into gold ! I have had a few over the years with the only criticism being the weight. For ruggedness second to none.

The last March I had was like it was built stealing bits off night force and s&b it was truely very very durable the low profile turrets like a vx6 but positive clicks of the others two awsome zerostop system parallax how ever a serious pain in the butt would not recommend it for a bush gun if it wasnt spot on the whole scope was blurry. It was cery easy to tune and super crisp once tuned it actually made it easy to set the parralax no moving the head because as soon as the image came crisp it was spot on. But you had to create the habbit of doing parallax checks ie walking threw the bush to get to a look out you had to remember to shoulder the rifle and focus the parallax on something near or if you bumped an animal and shouldered the rifle and it was set from your last shot their would be no image, every other scope iv had is shootable on any parallax setting. I learnt that habbit but it still really pissed me off

The parallax issue you mentioned is common in scopes with big magnification ranges. It's hard/impossible to design a scope that does everything well.

Basically any scope with and 8x or 10x magnification range is going to suffer from a poor depth of field or have an unforgiving parallax.

Most current optics companies haven't existed long enough to have had a scope model for 15+ years.

The current Leupold Mark 3/VX3 scope are similar to the original VX III/Mark 4 line with minor improvements along the way.

The 5-25x56 Tangent Theta and Minox ZP5 are both variants on the old premier 5-25 scope which was a similar age to the NXS.

There's probably some Light Optics Works models that are a similar age. As well as some Sightron/Kenko optics models.

There are probably some old Ziess/Hensoldt and Kahles models also.

The NXS has at least had minor improvements along in the way, with the zero stop and high speed turret options. I'd imagine there has been internal mechanical and glass changes too.

People are still buying 15 year old Nightforces because of the name and they don't know any better. Sure they are still a solid option and there is nothing wrong with them per se, but there's no way I'd pay $3000 (like some people do on Trademe) for a scope with no zero stop and 5mil revolution turrets. That's like used PMII money and the PM2 has aged far better than the NXS line.

One fault, heavy. To some that matters based on your requirements/preferences and to others it doesn’t, like all faults in other brands.
