    Fluting is a waste of time for noticable weight saving on a standard profile barrel imo.

    Carbon wrapping saves notable weight and has way better cooling and adds rigidity to a barrel. Much longer shot strings before heat effects accuracy etc.

    Would not bother for the simple reason you will not carry it around thinking how much lighter it is with just fluting.

    You could buy a standard barrel, cut it off at the receiver and have a stainless barrel fitted at that price. A couple hundy extra and you could get it wrapped.
    mine handles like a dream and doesn't look to bad either.
