    RUST

Hi all. What's everyone's go to product gun rust protection? I haven't tried a lot of products but I've found INOX spray quite good after one of my rifles developed rust with Hoppes no9 applied and after removing the rust only INOX kept it away. I watched a vid by Iraqveteran8888 where they reviewed a dozen different oils and lubricants, CLP breakfree, REM oil, EEZOX and ballistol are products I've heard of and know are sold in NZ that where highly regarded in the vid. Thoughts?

This is still one of the best and most intensive tests around https://dayattherange.com/?page_id=3667
And Ballistol and H #9 didn't come out that good.
I have been using Frog Lube for a while now.
Unfortunately, some of the good products aren't available here
You need to go to the end of the report to gets the guts.

CLP Breakfree is what I have used for years. Applied to either blued or stainless firearms, stored in my gun safes, even up to 2 years, has protected from rust. Living as I do in humid Auckland area I know if nothing is applied against rust it will appear given time. I also use it to swab cleaned bores for the same purpose when they will be stored for a while.

I tried to get WD40 Specialist here but they don't import it.

I can't recall another similar US test to the one Zimmer cited but Corrosion X came out very well. I use it and am very happy with it.

    ..found it:

Heat in your safe is the best fix for rust, with oiled surfaces second. .I like Inox or similar

    Eezox has never failed me.

For black powder rifles it's Ballistol mixed with water, then dry, then liberal application inside and out with eezox.
