You had to keep an eye on the bolt as well as with no half cock it would just spit the loaded case out very easily.
    Stock work was very nice
S&L are now a completely different company to the one that made the old 7x61.

I managed to track down a new schultz and larsen from Bill Perry from reloading Ballistics specialists in Carterton ,he seems to be a top bloke who is very Old school .Had the choice between 6.5x47 6.5x55 and 6.5x284 but went with the swede 21 inch barrel threaded 2600 new, not bad for a switch barrel rifle I thought. New barrels are 700 new from Bill Which is bloody good. S&b detachable mounts are 220 and he will do the new s&b suppressor for 320
    Overall it's definitely good value.
    Tahr and kiwijames like this.

    Was the 6.5x47 a S&L as well?

Yes, Bill is a good man.
He's got a good stock of powder and nice Swarvo stuff too.

Keep us updated on how the 6.5 shoots.
