    TradeMe magazine policy

Just a heads up for anyone who cares - TradeMe have advised they are more strictly enforcing their policies regarding magazines (I found out after they pulled yet another of my listings).

They've killed my listings for new 10 round .303 Lee Enfield magazines and now advise they will also be doing the same for centerfire rifles listed with any magazine greater than 7 rounds, regardless of whether it is bolt action or semi automatic.

I will be listing more of my stuff elsewhere but don't want to say where due to being on my final warning here (hence my relative silence lately). Obviously TradeMe won't miss anybody's business but I still feel it is worthwhile to support the alternatives.

Shouldn't the Police be contacted and advised what Tardeme are doing.
Where I work we had concerns about the amount of people selling class A drugs on Tardeme (Peyote). The Police were contacted and advised Tardme to change their policy and as far as I'm aware they did.

Why? They are not doing anything illegal. Their sandpit, their rules. If they broke the law then different story.
    Unfortunately stupid is still legal.

    +1

And inform them that you have referred the matter to the Police, with the Trademe contacts details.

So you don't think allowing people to sell class a drugs on a web site if wrong? Could you please explain why? A little confused here

Inform Police, give them the name of the TradeMe person who's recommending you break the law. Also inform TM, you can call them (04) 803 2600 rather than use the 0900 number. Ask to speak to Operations Manager. Option 2 is to contact the media, TM usually reply to their inquiries knowing bad PR is a no no.

To OP, yes it's a pain, but the high number of morons who purchase large capacity magazines, then slap them into non-endorsed firearms really is the cause of the problem. Probably won't be long till magazine sales with require a P2P :-(

You did say you were concerned with the "amount" of people selling drugs, not the actual selling of them...or did I read that wrong?
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy...I don't know and don't care.

Trade Me employ many muppets, some of these muppets have some idea as to what is going on and some of the muppets are, just muppets...depending on the luck of the draw as to which muppet you get when dealing with them...never, never try to deal with the weekend muppets as the "good" muppets are home on weekends...the problem lies in their interpretation of their own rules...some see a full stop after "large capacity magazines" and don't read the full sentence...an easy mistake too make, for a muppet.

My reply was in the context of the OP, not your issue.
Certainly I would not condone the illegal sale of drugs and I commend the guy who would not hand over the rifle without correct procedure followed through.
TradeMe are there own though and are free to do as they wish (within the law). If it is to their disservice so be it, but I would very much doubt they really care too much about a niche sport such as hunting.

Spook, I like your muppet illustration. I had to deal a few times with the front muppet, and when I came up with argument he could not replied to then the muppet manager took over. There was a bit more IQ with that chief muppet and things stood at a stand still and did not get further. Chief Muppet saw were I was coming from.

They are encouraging/trying to make the seller break the law, hence the Police should be notified IMHO.
