The rear end looks very much like my old Ruger M77 MkII bolt, so I reckon it is from a Ruger.

The owner thinks it was his son's hornet the rifles were stolen some years ago and he's having a clean out.

Yeh, looks V familiar. My opinion is he was lucky it was stolen, most frustrating rifle I ever owned.

You should be able to get 250 to 300$ for it I guess.

Hybrid rear and front locker. Looks like a longer action factory adapted to something like the Hornet.

To hijack this thread, I have an unidentified .22 bolt going spare,
Due to lack of ‘puter savvy I can’t post pics on this site but if anybody is game enough to pm me the cellphone number I’ll text them pics of the bolt and maybe THEY could post pics on the site.

I'd be pretty certain it's a Ruger 77/22 hornet or 77/17 hornet bolt. A couple of small shims between the two parts of the bolt made the old man's much less frustrating (more accurate).
