I had one a few years back and it just didn't work for me at all they are really bulky through the wrist and quite square up front and to be honest they just look really unpleasant in my mind it doesn't matter how light a rifle is if it feels bulky then it will never handle well and mine started to delaminate along the fore end
Not to mention both those examples are heavy huas

If tangent theta is like a Bentley then Zero compromise is like rolls Royce or a Bugatti :-)

Honestly you could buy something like an old model 70 and get the likes of dean maisey to make a bloody good semi custom with glass on top for 6k.

I would rather have that over a sako

Were Tangent Theta originally known as Zero Compromise or have I confused the company?

Well, the thread has been entertaining. Let's play a simple game. Recommend a good quality, brand new .308 bolt action rifle that weighs under 2.5kg for less than $3.5k that is actually available for purchase in NZ.

Yes to .308, 18" or even better 16" barrel, primarily for bush hunting.

Depending how you feel about it a strata or t3x light in a Hi-tec stock docked to 16" would come very close to if not reach those expectations, you would have to cut the barrel short into the fluting but that is certainly not an issue have owned a few rifles done this way certainly hasn't effected accuracy in a negative way.....I happen to know where a Hi-tec stock is sitting ready to go at a store, could probably talk to the owner about a package if you like ?

The Kimber hunter would be a good option though I’m not sure about availability in .308 iv seen 7-08 and 6.5 creed though . And a few montanas are popping up well priced on trademe lately a begara and a carbon stock would be that sort of money aswell id have thought I’m unsure on their finished weight .
