    Thanks for the thread BSA,
    It is indeed very similar,

    I've got it apart again, the mag tube and forend doesn't change change anything although I didn't think it would, with the buttstock on the bolt doesn't push the hammer down enough, but with the buttstock off it pushes it down with plenty of extra push, so somehow the buttstock is interfering there, I can't see how the buttstock would go on any way other than how it does, having the tang screw in doesn't change anything,

    Im thinking it may be fouling side to side rather than up and down, but I cant see any marking in the wood or on the spring that would indicate that, should figure out a way to mark it so I can see where it rubs, not sure what I'd use, I know carbon from smoke is used for metal surfaces though.
