    Another couple for the Bergara

Ended up being a quick overnight mission with Dad instead of 3 days. We shot 3 deer on Friday evening, saw another 4 in head lamps as we made our way to the hut. All very calm animals, none took off straight away. Got to the hut at 1130 last night, then out this morning to bone the 2 I shot and 1 for the old man.
It was the most trying butchery session I have had, wasps everywhere. Next time I will get up early to deal with the animals.

This was at the hut, looks like a Parker Hale with a 243 diameter barrel.

It had USA on the scope, about the only thing that could be read. I was quite intrigued by the fact the rubber scope cover was intact.
Whilst I was butchering the hind a group of late 60s early 70 yr old trampers walked past. Had a good yarn, they left happy with a backstrap.

The old truck tire tube scope cover endures yet, much better than neoprene and free

the bolt is required for someone.....wonder if the police have that one down as stolen/misplaced etc??? looks like its been in river for quite some time,or in shingle slide. big Al Lester tells of finding perfectly good working .270 up in shingle slide and it got returned to owner, who was a tad pissed as insurance had paid out and replacement purchased.
