Thread: Clements wander

Finally got around to putting the aimpoint on my .308 so Decided to head for a couple of nights at the old mill clearing on Clements mill road,there was a few groups of campers staying there when I arrived and a Boy Scout group as well,headed to my favourite clearing on Saturday afternoon and wTched over it till this hind popped out about 10mins before dark,the aimpoint shot true and down she went,older hind so gonna take her in to get some salamis made up.lots of cars parked along the road and heard a few shots over the weekend so there must be a few animals about.

Considering how heavily that place is hunted it's amazing it just keeps on producing.

Sika are one of the few things I miss from the north island. Did a bit of hunting off clements. Sounds like it's still a busy area.

Is that off the clearing I carved out of the bush just for you.

Dunno,was it you who trimmed the tree I hung the deer in?also some kind soul has put glow in the dark markers on the trees from the main river to the clearing which makes it easier in the dark on the way out.
