    Cleaning Diesel Engines

A fitting came loose on my cruiser and diesel went everywhere.
What is the best way/product to clean it off, spray and rinse ?.

Rolled my tractor years ago. Had oil to Africa. Used about 5 cans of the aerosol spray degreaser from Super Cheap. Stinks for ages after though.

yeah last service for my RAV collected it and got down to H+ F and when I came out damn thing sounded strange - lifted bonnet and bugger me oil everywhere - the filler cap was of but was still under bonnet thankfully - obviously not tightened properly - got home out with can de greaser - hosed of engine but next day Rav ran like bucket of crap - took it back to me little local garage -water damage down sparkplugs - Mechanic was neat said our fault and I got whole new set plugs free of charge -

I once left the oil filler cap off one of my vehicles, didn't realise until I went to check the oil again. No idea how long it was off for, could've been weeks or even months.
Either way I did appear to have lost any oil, so bought a new cap and carried on.

Anyways I thought engines were supposed to be covered in oil?
    Mine always seem to be...

The cheap degreaser from SCA or Repco works well for removing diesel/oil.
If it's on sensitive components then the CRC electrical contact cleaner works great but it's expensive (like 6x the price of degreaser).
