2018 model, auto.
Have they fixed the oil usage yet?
I believe so
Or rather, I'm told so by the bloke thats selling them.
Wasn’t 12k the figure, where abouts unknown!
But are these new ones or 2015/16 models?
There seems to be nothing about it after 15/16 mentioned anywhere I can find
My 2018 doesn’t as far as I know.my old one did.
I have one of the new models an LTZ, just over a year old.
Goes extremely well especially when you think that its only a 2.8 litre four cylinder. Heaviest Ive towed is a 2.7 tonne digger + trailer so roughly three tonnes up some very steep hills. No problem I was happily surprised. I'm told it is alot more comfortable than the Ford but I havnt driven one. No oil issues like the old model so far, My father inlaw had the last model with the bung motor, he now has a Z71 which he says is far superior to the old model. All the beeping drives me a bit batty, I wish the bitch would mind her own business.
Excellent backing camera and parking sensors. They have had three goes at getting a rattle out of the dash with no luck. When its due for a service, actually before its due, you guessed it ding bloody dong all the time. Mine is the charcoalish colour and the paint seems to chip abit too easily for my liking. I think you can out drive the chassis, which isnt a negative as it must be hard to set things up to tow three tonnes and still be able to carry one tonne with any kind of comfort.
All in all an excellent vehicle for the time Ive had it but time will tell once they have a couple of hundred k under them.
Troy
2.8l... That's huge triton is 2.4 and the Amarok 2.2 :wtfsmilie: I do like the old 4.2l non turbo (unles si'm in a hurry)
I believe you can now get them with a supercharged LS3 in them (according to the latest NZ4x4 magazine)
Our late 2016 LTZ don't burn oil. Have a good mate with a Z71 and it tows his 3.5 ton boat (8.5m White Pointer) real well between here and Okiwi Bay. I would buy another in a second.
That said much prefer taking my Pajero up to visit Mr Pengy over the Colorado
Funny thing was I was reading this apparently they know better than their customers, its a Toyota don't ya know :D
Yip bought a Z71 back in July after owning a Navara for 5 years.
Really impressed with the vehicle both on road and off. Sure the bells and whistles are a bit ott, but its a far better built vehicle than the Navara, more comfortable, better ground clearance, and a lot smoother in the engine. So far so good
I got a new one had a 15 that was chewing oil
Done almost 4000k with a few long trips.
Its a far better ute then the old one. Tech is up there if sometimes anoying.
Ride is great
Cabin noise is a huge improvement over my old one.
Im happy as and would recommend

I have had Toyota hilux 4x4 utes for over 30 years but after comparing various utes at the start of the year i went for a 2018 holden colorado.
Have been very pleased with its performance overall and would recommend it to other purchasers. No oil issues with this model that im aware of.
I put an extra leaf spring in the rear and replaced the front suspension to be more suitable for the type of use it will get.
Yeah Yogi
Unless for some unknown reason something bad happens before I can get my trade to them, I've bought one as well.
Two Toyota dealers just wouldn't give me enough to go new so I started looking elsewhere.
I received an offer on a new LTZ with a tray, towbar etc that was doable and the rest as they say, is[ or should be ] history.
Offer was not in town.
I see they have the red Z whatever in town for 50K but it has no tow bar , tray etc
Funny that they didn't want our money either and now they never will ......... ever, bunch of snobby barstools in this town. All they kept saying was
1. Yes but you cant compare a Toyota with other vehicles and
2. The resale value will be better
3. We cant give you any better discount UNLESS you are a business, Farmlands card holder or fleet buyer if you are one of those we have different pricing
Hey Mikee
They told me flat out that if I could get a farmlands card they would give me a 3 thousand dollar discount
Fuck them, my money should be just the same.
Mine was bought new from one of the dealers I mentioned and serviced from new from the other
They still gave me the lowest trade by over 2k from the next lowest franchise.
@jakewire what were you doing down ferry road this morning ?
@Harryg
Swimming and running that mad Wirehaired Pointer that you are going to adopt.
didn't you see me in that big red truck
Nope I saw the big red truck , but didn't realize it was you. However I did wave politely
you should have grabbed your dog then.:)
I was conned with the "Great Resale" Value as well when I bought my last one.
As far as I can see The only people that are paying these great resale values are idiots like me.
The two Toyota dealers I attempted to buy new with are certainly not contributing back.
You did well, Toyota is old technology at present, I think
Yep i found it to be under powered relative to other utes, hard riding, ugly dash, ugly looking and a sense of claustrophobia on the inside(especially the back seat).
Oh yeah they didn't want to trade my 03 hilux and wouldn't match the farmlands deal either which pissed me off more than anything.
Anyway onward with the Holden and time will tell but happy at the moment.
OK looked harder and includes ORC and floormats.

Well @BRADS
you see I didn't get 29k, I'd have been happy if i did
Mine was 2008, canopy ,snorkel, steps, etc, had 147Km and dealer bought and serviced since new,
I was offered 19.5K from the Toyota dealers,
Considerately more from the Colorado , Nissan and VW people.
So.. I own a 2018 Colorado.
Good stuff mate, yeah I didnt mean that to be taken the wrong way, I was trying to get across the massive difference there seems to be with Toyota dealers across the country.
I'd never been Into this dealership before but couldn't of been more pleased with the service we got.
