I have a pair of lowa tibets which are 4 years old and still have a lot of life in them I think. As mentioned above they are very slippery on wet rocks when river crossing. Not sure how the Duleys jump around like tahr when they cross rivers in them.
When people say their boots fall to bits through lack of use it's true. Google 'hydrolysis in polyurethane mid soles'.
It's really important to use your boots often to stop this. I even use mine to walk the dog around the streets now and then if I can't get out for a hunt.
Awesome information! Went and got me the nevadas - took them for a hunt and loved them. Comfy as, not too extreme, and definitely will take care of them to prevent hydrolysis!!
So they should be replaced because they are not fit for purpose. Some of these big companies seem to get away with murder. and charge like a wounded bull.
I can set a of shit car tires for less then some of these boots and get 20000km from them. Most of these would struggle to get to that millage
Until they find something better than polyurethane for the mid soles then that's what's available. If you read the link above it is preventable but I also agree that you should be able to clean and treat your boots and store them in the cupboard until next use.
It's easy solved just own one pair of boots & where them more in the weekends when you at home doing chores out side put your boots on & where them, going up town to buy a couple things put your boots and where them it not hard to make use of them it no different to oil them every one knows now that they don't like sitting so use them instead off monaing they they ant lasting
As far as my nevada legend gtx forrest go always wash them off after returning from a trip with a damp rag and let them dry then snowseal them, did abit of reading and will get
some of this stuff https://www.fishcityhamilton.co.nz/c...ng-spray-200ml what crispi use/recommend for waterproofing boots
