Anyway I have always thought a set of waterproof leggings that can be packed and are light weight would be awesome for wading shallow water or crossing creeks and streams.
Better still without having to take your boots off and slip on some dive booties or crocks like I do now.
Done a bit of a google search and they have all sorts in the states but most from reviews, are unreliable and some perish after one use.
One of our members over there I am in contact with, suggested a few things and one was a product called the Chota hippy. Basically a light weight set of gaiters with a waterproof sock. Only trouble is you need to use a larger size wading or hunting boot with them and still get that boot wet. Not good in winter thar country.

So while the concept has it drawbacks I thought why not an over boot with the same material and a grippy sole that are light, and can slip on over your hunting or gum boots quickly and hold together.
I know most kiwis would just go with wet and cold feet but mine are buggered and if I can keep them dry crossing deeper than my gaiters or gumboots I would be stoked. Plenty of uses besides hunting I can think of where something like that would be handy.
Any wader makers on here?

bloody good idea squire .IIRC there is or was a custom wader maker here around CHCH sometime ago -occasionally popped up on trade me .suggestion -complete outdoors /fishermans loft here in CHCH may well be able to supply details if theyre still in business(a big if)
