Have you looked at the Kuiu Kennai insulated jacket?

    https://www.kuiu.com/products/kenai-...40340433207454

I borrowed one from a mate a couple of years ago for a winter Tahr hunt and i went a bought my own straight after as I was so impressed with it.

I am 6" 90kg and have a 112cm chest and the Large fits perfect as they make them slightly oversized to accommodate layers underneath. I can also fit my Macpac ultralight down underneath still too and is now my go to combo when winter hunting.

They are expensive full retail, but if you get one on sale they are well priced.

Hence the wait for a sale and they are more like $300 something.

Yeah for sure, always look for angle, deal or hangout for a sale, they’re never far between.
Often if you add something to cart of a US retailer and leave it there they’ll offer you or send you a discount code.
Typically you’ll be offered a discount for subscribing or becoming a member of their site. Then just unsubscribe if you don’t want to be spammed, use a non-primary account, or setup a one off account to get the discount as many company’s will keep a register email accounts to stop double dipping from the same email reregistering after unsubscribing.

https://www.marine-deals.co.nz/ridge...et-excape-camo - it's got the thinsulate one of you were after. I scored one, keeps me warm, but guessing probably not for South Island winters.. I'm 173cm/97kg and went with XL. And also seem to be sized maybe a little on the smaller size, so try before you buy. It will roll up into it's hood, so it's not super bulky. It weighs 660gm by my scales. And it's bloody cheap compared with some of the options out there.

Have a look at the current Bivouac sale. Gear from the likes of OR or Black Diamond is going to be much better quality than some of those hunting brands.
