I saw a cooking programme years ago where Nigella lawson was cooking in her kitchen, and had an Island benchtop. Inset into the benchtop were two of those cast iron double burners that kiwi sapper has linked to. So they are pretty bloody good if a chef is happy to use them.

But the single version of Ryan's should be a must in all kiwi households for emergencies. $20 bucks on special from Bunnings, and a bundle of 4 gas containers for $5. Can't beat that. Half of Viet Nam cooks on them
