Thread: Hunting from gunboat waikato river

Anyone have info about rules surrounding shooting decoying ducks from a anchored gunboat between Cambridge and Hamilton since drift shooting is now banned?i know there are a couple of permanent stands along the river that are shot from ,looking to scout out a couple of spots that might hold birds pre season as it’s only 15mins to boat ramp from home I’m thinking it might be good for the od morning shoot.have emailed fish and game but no joy yet,obviously you would be establishing a safe firing zone away from any dwelling or cycle/walking track.
