[QUOTE=Nathan F;1683009]This year for the first time I just couldn’t be assed. I’m sick of F&G and their attitude towards farmers. I’ve brought a duck licence for the last 25 odd years. No more donation from me. If it wasn’t for my boy I would have gone deer stalking. I’m lucky I have a pond not 100 m from my house. We sat on that and shot 32. Boy was happy.

That is disappointing that you feel like that Nathan. We need farmers involved in our waterfowl hunting, as the ducks need to breed and feed on farmers land. I think the F&G v Fed F over "Dirty Dairying" was from a few over zealous individuals high up in F&G. I have an inkling that some farmers got themselves voted onto F&G and sorted a few things out. I myself put in a submission a year or so ago, and made it clear that they need to work with farmers - not against them. I hope you change your mind about buying a license in future.

I am happy to pay for my license, and know that a portion of it goes to the Gamebird Trust for habitat retention/establishment. I shoot on a F&G balloted wetland, and we have to pay an additional $35 each on top of our license, supposedly for weed spraying etc. That bit sucks.

We only have a 6 bird limit here in Eastern, and that is plenty for me. Our waterfowl season has been extended to 6 weeks (from 4), and we have some great pheasant hunting. My son and I have spent this last week duck and pheasant hunting every day. We have done this first week every year since he could hold a shotgun. Fantastic fun.

Its not a "licence", like it was, where good things were done with it...........
now its a "tax" so you can keep your shit if you happen to bump into a F&G ranger.
