Thread: When to set out decoys

Hi I'm relatively new to duck shooting. But a mate of mine has a lifestyle block with some existing ponds.
Whens the best time to set out decoys? Would it be the morning of a hunt or set them out the night before? Or earlier. Its private land so im not too worried about them getting pinched

I shoot on public water, I usually put mine out the day before opening day, then after opening weekend I may reduce they numbers or remove them altogether, then just put them out when I want to go for a shoot.

night before is good..and dont leave the plurry things there all season either like some plonkers do...they fade and perish and are then no good to anyone,plus it pulls birds in and educates them that all is not right with plastic ducks.
