Actually, after further Googling "yes" and "no".......I thought so also, but the fact is:

"......Today, the Crown retains the right to ownership of all unmarked mute swans in open water, but The Queen only exercises her ownership on certain stretches of the Thames and its surrounding tributaries."

    Ain't historical ceremonies great.

for starters guys like aaron cross &maxxie live their lives wrapped up in this romanticised delusion of hunters as wanton hardcore killers ,and nothing rational hunters say will change that thinking.secondly lots of wannabe topgunreporters typically wine&dine these so called guardians at the corporate trough ,in order to get the required controversy so their editor will see good paper ratings for the week.their rabid drooling is best greeted by dignified silence.
cross is an ex greyhound owner about as effective as a fish on apushbike and has a reputation of being attentionseeking++++,judging from threads on my brothers website "race cafe:hes fairly well universally despised by the greyhound folk anyhow.
as for the matter of the white swan -lets wait and see as F&Gpursue this entity who obviously must realise hes fairly deeply in the KAKA.he must be pleased we aint in the days of old HenryVIII -or he could be hearing the whoosh of the decending axeblade by this point.
yes ive had the odd incident where birds have needed a second hard glance to verify species ,and ithink most will at some time or other ,but lets keep a sesne of perspective.

As effective as a fish on a push bike. I like that Kotuku, I will use it if you don't mind.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
