Yeah @Lore tell us. My dog loves me more than the Mrs. After a hour in the boot the dog licks me and is friendly, after the Mrs been in the boot for a hour I spend a week in intensive care.

I know exactly what both of you mean with the walking down the wharf and the having a shower on land but I can say it is definitely dependant on the boat you have been living on and its type of motion/way it reacts to the weather.....one boat I was on (only 2 weeks wee inshore boat) I could barely walk down the wharf after getting off!
Most of my time was spent on larger factory trawlers.......as far as land sick goes the bigger and older the better.....the sturkoda (spelling) vessels are quite lively being a bit smaller and lighter and I could find myself swaying at the bar when I had barely had a drink where the larger vessels i never felt that at all.
I get the shower sways on hard out if I have been sitting on anchor close to shore in my 4.5m fryan even for a couple of hours.....its the wishy washy motion that does it tho by the time I have got home washed the boat and all the gear/filleted all the fish, cooked the fish, eaten the fish, vac packed all the other fish and frozen it I most probably have had a number of beers by the time I hit the shower
I have felt a bit queezy a few times but mostly just tired for the first 2 days of the trip(this is actually sea sickness apparently) the one time I have thrown up was after 3x 7week trips i got 36 hours on land which understandabley I made the most of then we steamed out into shit weather, head down in the upper factory deck assembling belts as the boat punched out, factory smelled like shit after sitting dry in port.....of to the toilet for a chunder.
One of my drinks must have been served in a dirty glass I recon.

You can use ginger as an effective preventive measure for motion sickness. At the very least, it can’t hurt. Take one to two grams of ginger half an hour before traveling for best results. If you’re on prescription blood thinners, consult your doctor before supplementing with ginger.
