Im still climbing up 2 flights of stairs twice a day,6 days a week.I did a little 4k walk on the canel few days ago.I call it a speed walk=40 minuts.I guess its ok,but i could do with loosing a little bit of weight.I try to eat the same as my wife, shes built like a marathon runner,im not at 140kgs, 6'4''.I do go for short walks most days. When you are 71,each winter it gets colder out side.F it.

Living in the Sounds, if I want to walk or bike anywhere there's hills.
I've got a 5km circuit through pines and power line tracks I like to do each day.
Sometimes with a pack of various weights if I'm wanting that bit extra.
And lifting things at work all the time when building.

That and clean living keeps me feeling hill fit

weve got a few tracks around home that i try and waddle up and down a few times a week. i feel good doing it and think yeh im sweet. come time for a hunting trip and its waaaaay different hahaha. last trip i did down the motu i realized walking stalking through bush involves very little fitness. its the carrying that takes the fitness haha.

That’s usually only on a conditional basis though therefore not reliable.

I do a 50 workout each day: 50 press ups followed straight away by 50 situps followed straight away by 50 seconds plank followed straight away by 50 seconds wall sit. Repeat until you can’t do any more. Doesn’t take long.

Mtb, hill walks with weight, surf.

Gym can be tedious but solid resistance training with medium weights seems to work well.

Don’t eat ultra processed foods and don’t use any of the bad seed oils. Keep my sugar down. Try not to get injured – that really screws your fitness up.

Seems to be going okay after several decades.

When I didn't have two under two, running hills was my go to workout and it got me in pretty good shape - the grind up got the cardio sorted out and then running back down (with care) was awesome on strengthening the legs and knees. Not something you can just dive right into, big potential for an injury running down hill for extended periods if you're not ready for it but the force multiplication is pretty good.

Now that I can't get out of the house, I have a pair of 12kg kettlebells by the back door and whenever I see them with a bit of time up my sleeve I throw them around. Latest thing I've tried is jumping on the spot with them - I can only get about 20 before I'm feeling pretty knackered.

I go rifle walking, walk around the village or walk up to the fire lookout, my work is on my feet walking around 20000 steps a day. So nothing specific, I'll never go the gym I look terrible in those big mirrors

2 Kids , 3 Companies makes it hard to keep fit , christ.

However , I have found that cutting back on trash food and going to the gym at 4am before a 6am start has worked for me in the last few months.

Marked improvement in stamina and recovery post-hunt.

Makes you realise why you do it in the first place.

    Kettlebells are great.
    Here's a good workout.
    10 x Kettlebell swings
10 x Kettlebell goblet squat and
    10 x Press up Burpees

    x 10 rounds
    It's a killer.
