Yeh pretty much although jb Kwikweld is much nicer as it's set time is short. And yes 100% use a release agent of the scope. I find it less prone to marring scope tube also compared to lapping. Bedding under rings to action is pretty common with rails stateside.

For a 7mm Mag you would want to weld the scope on wouldn't you

well just like the chronigraph can make you doubt your nice accurate load
thinking that you need to use a torque wrench to do up scope rings is the same...Ive never had a scope move in rings...and hand torqued up is it....why over complicate what isnt that complicated??? just do the plurry things up firmly and be happy.....weaver clip over mounts have been good to me for years....if really worried scope is going to shift,by all means put drop of adheisive on the join between scope n rings...single drop on the top should be more than enough....

    I'm using:
15 in.lb for the 4 small screws hold the top of the ring to the bottom 2.5mm Hex
25 in.lb for the single cross screw holding the ringmount onto the rail 4mm Hex
40 in.lb for bedding screws in plastic stock for comparison Torx25

    Looks like a 6mm PPC ?

I don't like the idea of fitting a single curvy line that runs exactly through all the points on your graph. A regression curve that allows for some uncertainty of measurement in each groups size would be more convincing. You can get some idea of that from the way your 3 group average varies by up to 0.2" from the single measurement on the left. Looks like around CBTO 1.915 should be your sweet spot. Nevertheless, very good work and I wish I had data like that.

The graph was plotted using Excel - using exact figures. I hear you though not keen on use of a regression curve - we OCD over collection of such results, change seating depths at three thousandths of an inch at a time - there's no way I'm going to use a regression curve to draw a 'best fit' - its either doing something or not - thats my view that may differ from others.
However I'm more OCD on these sort of things! Can be a hinderance in some aspects !

Thanks though.... you too can attain data like this...
You're in my neck of woods - never say never
