My friends and I use clay pigeons to help sight in. Our range has earth the berms at 50,100,150, and 200 yards. Start at 50 or 100 yds and shoot till you break the birds. Your shots are easy to see in the dirt. Then go to paper for the final adjustments. We currently shoot mostly at 200 yds. We break the birds and then shoot the fragments.More fun than just shooting paper. A lot of fun with a 22 lr.

We are going to run this on the range once I get the next calendar out, we have to validate at at 100 initially . . . But I was thinking we'd put up a 200mm plate ( and a really big one to help those not yet up to the challenge and especiallyif uts really windy) and instead of working back up the range, we'd go straight back to 600 and work forward, each move going to a less supported position (all hunting orientated).
